Jealous VMware CTO virtualizes CEO away
Dr. Stephen Herrod, Chief Technology Officer at VMware, was questioned today by Palo Alto police officers after Yaffa, Paul Maritz’s wife, reported him missing last night. Mrs. Maritz told police officers she didn’t see her husband for more than 3 days – and his last meeting was with Herrod.
Herrod, VMware insiders told the IT Reporter, is known as a highly ambitious person who has desired for a long time to step up to the CEO position. He was very disappointed when Maritz was hired, and has been engaged in secretive high-tech virtualization experiments ever since.
According to a statement by the Palo Alto police station, Mr. Herrod confessed that he was blinded by jealousy and abused highly experimental technologies to get rid of his boss, which resulted in Mr. Maritz being virtualized into a VMware ESX cluster.
Virtualization experts are currently attempting to return Maritz into an analog lifeform, but it is likely that Maritz will be forced to spend the rest of his digital life in the cloud somewhere.
